The Customs Division of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) has said that revenue targets for June and July were exceeded despite the significant reduction in airport activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking at a stakeholder’s engagement on Thursday, Sector Commander of the Customs Division at KIA attributed the significant gains in revenue mobilization to the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS).

“In June this year, just as the ICUMS was introduced we strongly worked towards exceeding our targets by as much as 15.2 percent and this target exceeds the previous year’s gains when there was no COVID-19 and the introduction of ICUMS had not taken place,” the Sector Commander stated.
